Fall is on its way, which means our Fall Cleanup is coming soon!
If you have any mattresses and box springs, unwanted furniture, broken appliances, old tires, scrap metal, or just overall junk you don’t know what to do with, mark your calendars for this October.
We will be holding our Fall Cleanup next month on the 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th. The event will last on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.
The cleanup will collect bulk trash, metal, appliances with and without freon, tires without the rim, and electronics at the McAlester Recycling Center, 301 E Polk Avenue.
If you have any brush you need to get rid of, we will be accepting it at the McAlester Landfill. They will be open at the same time as our cleanup.
As always, to make this cleanup run smoothly, we need volunteers! Lunch will be provided on Saturdays, along with snacks and water during the weekend. Even if you can only give an hour, it would make a big difference in how many cars we can get through.
For people who want to use our cleanup, volunteers may be sparse, so make sure you can unload whatever you’ve brought.
Also remember to check your loads for any living animals. We accept a lot of things, but kittens aren’t on that list. So if any are found in your load, you will have to take them back with you.
Thank you to all of our partners who make our cleanups possible. I hope we can get rid of a lot of trash this October!
