Painting Fire Hydrants in 3rd Ward

Get your paintbrushes ready because we’re going to be painting fire hydrants in July!

The fire hydrants in town could use a new coat, so Keep McAlester Beautiful and our volunteers will be meeting on July 11th to do just that. We’ll be painting in the 3rd Ward, though we won’t be able to get every single fire hydrant in the ward.

If you’re interested in helping, we’ll be at Jefferson School at 9 a.m. to hand out supplies and do a painting demonstration before sending volunteers out to their assigned fire hydrants.

The paint we will be using is hard to get out and stains easily, so be careful when using it. Be sure to wear clothes you wouldn’t mind getting stained, but hopefully that won’t happen!

We’ll be providing tarps to carry the paint along with paint brushes and loppers for fire hydrants that need the weeds trimmed away from them.

Let’s add some color back to 3rd Ward!
